Kutcher's Still MTV's 'Best Friend' Ashton Kutcher's decision to pull the plug on "Punk'd" came as a surprise to MTV, but the cable network apparently doesn't have any hard feelings toward him.The "That '70s Show" star's production company, Katalyst Films, has a pilot for another hidden-camera show called "My New Best Friend" in development at MTV. It's one of close to 20 projects the network is considering for the coming year.Based on a British show of the same name, "My New Best Friend" revolves around contestants trying to convince their friends and family that an improv actor is the player's new bosom buddy. It's no easy sell, as the actor behaves as inappropriately as possible in front of the contestant's other acquaintances."We looked at 'Punk'd' as a great platform for improv actors. This is also a show where improv actors really take it to the limit," Katalyst's Jason Goldberg tells The Hollywood Reporter.Kutcher will serve as co-executive producer of "Best Friend" but isn't expected to appear on camera.
